While working for Island Daily Deals I helped develop a great deal of print & web material to help assist in a transition from the previous ownership's old branding material, to a new, more modern design. I pushed consistent brand colours, fonts, and repeated design elements, while emphasizing the new business logo by featuring it prominently in most material. The new brand attempts to balance modern and accessible design with a inviting, fun energy.
I designed a Business Development Package targeted towards accommodations for IDD from the ground up - layout, content writing, and image creation. This project included a custom folder,
colourful flat sheet, a testimonial page with examples of successful past partners in the industry, and an infographic handout geared specifically towards how an accommodation can put together
and launch a successful deal.
I also developed pair of matching pamphlets, one geared towards customers or potential customers of the website, and one geared towards providing information to clients and generating potential
warm leads, to hand out at events. Again I was responsible for all elements the pamphlet, including the planning, layout, writing, and image design.
Finally, T-Shirts were also designed, but scrapped before print in favour of other branded items.
I provided the business with mockups in the prototyping stage of their new website (currently still in production, at time of writing), developed by a third-part web design company. These mockups were generally revisions of the two most-viewed page templates on the site, the front page and deal details templates. I also helped write/proofread project documents and troubleshoot and alpha/beta test website versions.
Finally, I rolled up my sleeves for some actual markup in the prototyping stage of the website (which went through many design iterations). I created images and sample pages in HTML/CSS for coupon templates, login, registration, and error screens, as well as email templates for constant contact (not pictured).
